Jerry Traficante began his career in the 1970s after he left the University of Rhode Island in search of a job. Soon after his departure, he began as a jewelry maker at Vargas Manufacturing.
Around the same time, he fell in love with his lovely wife Susan. Together they began their own company in 1980 called First Casting, Inc. While Jerry focuses on the day-to-day operations, Sue tackles the customer service end of the business. On their days off, Jerry enjoys golfing and coaching youth basketball. When they first started, they were strictly a casting company; however, today they are a full service shop. They are proud to have done work for large labels like Tiffany, Avon, Home Shoppes, and QVC.
They are also a long time member of MJSA, which is a community for professionals in jewelry making and design. Jerry and Sue take the most pride in their company being family owned since they began in 1980.
